3 Guys Restaurant
A family-friendly diner that’s an Upper East Side staple for breakfast, lunch or brunch.
Strengths
- If you’re taking your kids for breakfast or lunch on the Upper East Side, 3 Guys is one of your best bets.
- They have over 200 items on their menu (over 45 different salads!), so there’s something for everybody.
- It’s very child-friendly.
Shortcomings
- For a diner, the prices are absurd. Offensive, even. Many of the salads are $20!
- It’s not big on ambience either (you’re not the only one bringing fussy kids.)
Insider tips
- I tend to stick with the basics here, like any type of eggs, grilled cheese, burgers, club sandwiches, salads, etc. Jumbo Shrimp Parmgiana? I think not (and it’s $24.95, no less!)
Anecdotes
- I went to 3 Guys when I was a kid, and now I take my children there. It’s an Upper East Side institution. On the one hand, it’s over priced and nothing special. On the other hand, it’s kind of a reverse-chic scene, and it’s got something for every picky eater in the family.
Perfect for
- Anyone with kids and money (and you’d better have money if you have kids on the Upper East Side!)
