Brown
Its warmth and charm draws you in.... its wine, food, and atmosphere keeps you there.
Strengths
- This place is magical - it's a warm and inviting cafe on Hester Street. It seats about 30 people on wood farm-tables and tree-top seats. There are big, bay windows where you can sit and watch the characters of this eclectic neighborhood stroll by.
- Its all about the food and wine here. It's such a small place that you really taste the love that goes into each dish. All the food is organic and carefully selected. A gem!!!
Shortcomings
Insider tips
- They cater, and you can host a private event there.
Anecdotes
- I sat in the window one day for lunch looking out at the street. Within 30 minutes I felt like I was in a movie...a Hasidic, Jewish man was pacing the block back and forth. Three Puerto Rican kids were playing ball in the street. A downtown fashionista was walking her trendy French bulldog. Two local business owners were yelling at each other about a delivery. My ex-boyfriend walked by with his new love. Two tourists, who had clearly wandered off their Lower East Side path, were examining all the details of the neighborhood with curiosity.
Perfect for
- This place is for insiders; it's a neighborhood favorite. So it's for anyone who wants to feel like a treu LESider, or anyone who appreciates a charming cafe.
